About Us

Janet started the business over 25 years ago making curtains at home whilst bringing up her two girls. She really wanted to decorate her home with beautifully made curtains, and so decide to enrol on a curtain making course so that she could make her own. A set of curtains later with floral sofa to match, and that was the beginning of her love for curtain making! 

​Janet soon built up a strong reputation in the local area. Building her business from home, before she made the decision to open her shop in St Ives, Cambridgeshire.

Three store moves later and Janets eldest daughter, Jo joined the business. Moving to a larger shop and growing the range available in store to include homeware and gift items from handpicked brands.

Our curtains are completely bespoke to meet your requirements.

We offer all curtain heading types: Pinch pleat headings, Pencil Pleat headings, Eyelet headings, Wave headings, Cartridge Pleat headings.

Choice of curtain linings: Cotton Sateen, Blackout, Thermal, Interlining

Bespoke Pelmets handmade in any shape and size.

Tiebacks can be made from any fabric to match or contrast with your curtains.

Customise your curtains with our range of trimmings, tassels and tiebacks or add contrast borders and edges for truly bespoke curtains.

Made to Measure Roman Blinds

Our Roman blinds are made to measure from any fabric of your choice and fitted on a chain lift track.

Our Roman blinds are all Hand sewn. We stab stitch the main fabric to the linings so you wont see any machine sewn lines across the front of your blind.

Bonded Blackout lining as standard gives your blind a lovely smooth finish.

Unlined, sheer Roman blinds also available, great for privacy and give a softer look.

Customise your roman blind with a choice of trimmings (we love a bobble trim) or add borders to the edges.

Made to Measure Blinds

As well as our Roman blinds, we supply a wide range of other types of made to measure blinds:

Roller blinds, Vertical blinds, Vision blinds, Pleated Blinds, Venetian blinds, Perfect fit blinds and Intu blinds.

We have samples of our blinds available to view in store including all types of roller blind fabrics from sheer to blackout and PVC.

We offer Fauxwood, Basswood and Metal Venetian blind options in a range of slat widths and colours.

Bespoke Cushions

We make bespoke cushions to finish off your soft furnishings.

Cushion covers: Plain, piped or trimmed.

In a wide range of shapes and sizes, including square, rectangular and bolster cushions.

Feather or polyester fillings.

Add trimmings or tassels for a completely bespoke cushion.

Boxed seat cushions made to any size. Including seat pads and bench cushions.

We have a wide range of curtain and poles and tracks and can advise on the best fitting for your window and curtains.

Measuring and Fitting

We offer a full measuring and fitting service.

We charge £35 for our measure appointments. This is refunded when you place your curtain and blind order with us.

We work with a local, independent curtain and blind fitter who we recommend to fit our curtains and blinds. We organise this for you once your order is ready. There is an extra cost for this, which you pay direct to the fitter. The standard cost for this is £35 to fit one blind and £75 to fit and hang one curtain pole and one pair of curtains. For multiple items the fitter will give us his best price on application. *based on 2023 prices, subject to change.

We purchase every single one of our fabric books to bring you a wide range of curtain and blind fabrics to choose from.

When you visit us it is always helpful to tell us about your ideas for your new soft furnishings. If you have seen something in a magazine or on pinterest that you love, photos help us get a feel for your style. Or if you are putting together a scheme, bring along any other samples you have such as paint colours, flooring or sofa samples. This will help you to see all elements of your room together whilst you choose a fabric.
